Deborah Tseng is a Taiwanese, London based designer and artist who works with precious metals and porcelain.
A graduate of the Master's program in Jewellery Silversmithing and Related Products from the Birmingham School of jewellery she was selected for the Getting Started program as one of the UK’s top 30 new jewellery brand talents by the British Goldsmiths’ Center.
Her work has been selected for Loot at the New York Museum of Art and Design, Talente in Munich, and One Year In - New Designers in the UK. She has been featured in Art Magazine and Art Collection + Design magazine in Taiwan.
Her diverse background led her to find inspiration from repetition, transformation, time and the minutiae of the world around her. She combines an extensive education in craft with traditions and ideas from a range of visual arts.
In her work she uses colour in monotone to create an atmosphere that is simple to approach but subtle, allowing interpretation and imagination.
Her work is inspired by the procession of nature, all things on this earth, the formation of mountains, the flow of rivers and seas, the gathering of clouds and fog, must follow their own paths. The natural rhythm of these elements is independent of, yet dependent on each other to create nature's flow of air and water, light and shadow.
